Dr. Rafael Quinones joined the Bartow Regional Medical Staff in February of this year. He is Certified from the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He and his wife Rosannie came to Lakeland from Michigan. They have vacationed in Orlando for many years and finally decided that they should leave the cold north to work and play golf in Lakeland. They have 2 beautiful daughters that they left in college up in Michigan but the girls have a great place to visit on their breaks.
Dr. Quinones, or Dr. “Q” for those who do not pronounce the name correctly, is listed on the American Top Surgeons List and has received the Best American Teacher Award. He has been an Associate Professor in Surgery and that is evidenced in the short time that he has been at Bartow Regional as physicians have already asked him to train them in Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS).
